Living by our truth is one, if the not THE most fundamental human need yet the root of most human suffering is lying.
We lie to ourselves, others and the world.
We lie about what we want, who we are and how we want to be perceived.
We lie, why? Because we are scared of being truthful to ourselves.
There is no one in this world without the experience of being truthful at least once in his/her lifetime. We all know how it feels to be bright –eyed and bushy -tailed, knowing EXACTLY who you are, what you like and dislike and what you want from your life. But the truth, our truth, does not stay for long enough because we start lying for all sorts of reasons-.
We lie out of fear of being alone or dying alone, wanting to be accepted at work or at home. We lie because we are scared of opposition. We are too proud to say no. Or to say yes. We are arrogant to admit that our partner is right because he/she knows us better than we know ourselves and she is showing up a mirror. Sometimes we lie because we do not know our own truth!
One of the most important lessons I have learnt in personal development is to be IMPECCABLE with our words. Without this, there is no way you can ever create what you want in life. Being impeccable with our words is hard but I find it the only way to really live and be alive! Being impeccable means to be true to your own voice, that little niggle that pushes you to go for what you need, articulate it and claim your dreams. Being impeccable means to go to sleep with no regrets about your day. To do things from your heart. To live your life from your passion and from your heart’s calling. It means to be transparent with yourself so you become transparent with others.
Being impeccable is not only about being honest. It is not about saying the truth all the time. That, too. Being impeccable is to remain conscious of what we are, who we are and what we are growing into- it is the essence of authenticity where you show up in life as your real self. And that is a battle hard to win- showing up 100% every minute, every day and in every situation…but once implemented, that is the essence of success.
Where in your life do you need to be impeccable?
